Service Raleigh

About

What

Service Raleigh is an annual citywide day of service started in 1998 by NC State's Student Government and Park Scholars. Each year, volunteers from the university and surrounding community unite to undertake a variety of projects, each of which provides much needed assistance to local organizations. Service Raleigh is funded by the Park Foundation, the Goodnight Scholars Program, NCSU Student Government, NCSU Inter-Residence Council, and local donors.

When

This year's Service Raleigh will be held on April 6th, 2024. This is a one day event, typically lasting from morning to mid-afternoon. The end time for volunteering will be dependent on your service project location.

How

The easiest way to get involved is to volunteer. Register as an individual volunteer or as a group, and you will be contacted with further instructions as the event approaches. If you're interested in registering as a group, a group leader should be selected and they should create the group. Individuals interested in volunteering with this group should use the "join a group" function on our registration page; this function allows volunteers to search for already created groups by organization name. You may also apply to be a site leader and help lead all of the volunteers at a site in service.

Where

We will meet at Talley Student Union, 2610 Cates Ave.

Our mission is to address the needs of our community, to foster a sense of community spirit, and to inspire our volunteers to a lifetime of involvement in public service.
